Cineverse has secured the rights to Jenni “JWoww” Farley’s directorial debut, “Devon,” which will be released exclusively on its streaming service, Screambox.
“Devon” is a horror film that follows a group of friends who investigate a decades-old disappearance, only to find themselves entangled in a chilling mystery. According to the official logline: “Years after their daughter’s disappearance, Devon’s parents are still searching for answers. When the asylum where she vanished was shut down, their hopes seemed dashed. Now, a mysterious website recruits five brave individuals to explore the now-abandoned asylum and uncover the truth. Unaware of the dangers that lie ahead, these explorers face a harrowing and potentially deadly ordeal.”
Farley expressed her excitement about the film’s release: “I’m thrilled to be working with Cineverse and Screambox to bring ‘Devon’ to horror fans. Transitioning from reality TV to directing is a new and exciting chapter for me, and I hope this is just the start of more to come in the genre.”
Farley is widely recognized for her role on MTV’s “Jersey Shore” and its spinoff, “Jersey Shore: Family Vacation,” which is set to return for a new season later this year.
The North American distribution rights for “Devon” were secured through negotiations between Brandon Hill, Cineverse’s executive director of acquisitions, and Farley.
